he PSA 1.6 BlueHDi (DV6) is generally regarded as one of PSA’s best modern diesel engines. It replaced the older 1.6 HDi and was produced from around 2014 to 2020 in 100 hp and 120 hp versions. It was fitted to vehicles including the Peugeot 208, 308, 3008, 508, Citroën C3, C4, Berlingo, DS models, and some Toyota Proace vans.
Strengths
- Very economical, often returning 60–70 mpg on longer journeys.
- Smooth and quiet for a diesel.
- Strong reliability when serviced correctly.
- The 8-valve DV6 BlueHDi is more robust than the older 16-valve 1.6 HDi engines.
However their weak points are the ad blue system. Amongst many other things 🙂
