We’ve been rather busy for updates at Tuning Emporium recently so here we go.

A recent job we had a call out for was this Audi Q5 with ad blue issues, on a 2016 2.0 tdi VAG engine, whilst we can probably tune these with fix’s through the OBD port, we always prefer to bench tune these, far safer.

The Audi 2.0 TDI is one of the most widely used diesel engines from Audi, found across models like the A3, A4, A5, A6, Q3, Q5, and even some Volkswagens and SEATs (since itโs part of the VW Group).
Hereโs a clear breakdown ๐
๐ง What is the 2.0 TDI?
- A 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine
- โTDIโ = Turbocharged Direct Injection
- Typically 4-cylinder, designed for a balance of power + fuel economy
โ๏ธ Common Power Outputs
Depending on year and version:
- ~120 PS (entry-level)
- ~150 PS (most common)
- ~190 PS (higher spec)
- BiTDI versions: up to ~240 PS
๐ Pros
- Excellent fuel economy (50โ65+ mpg UK in real driving)
- Strong torque (good for towing and motorway driving)
- Long engine life if maintained properly
- Widely available โ parts are easy to get
They do suffer with egr, dpf’s and swirl flaps amongst other common issues too.
Happily though here at Tuning Emporium we can deal with most of them. Tuning Emporium can also add a little extra BHP and MPG to any ad blue fix, check out our tuning calculator here for gains:
