Engine Performance & Variants
The 2.0-litre TD4 engine (Engine Code: 204DT) replaced the older, louder 2.2-litre Ford-derived units late in 2015. It was offered in two distinct power outputs paired with either a 6-speed manual or a slick 9-speed automatic transmission:
- TD4 150 (148 bhp): Focused on economy, producing 380 Nm of torque. It covers 0-60 mph in roughly 10.3 seconds.
- TD4 180 (178 bhp): The preferred option for towing and load-lugging, offering a punchier 430 Nm of torque and a 0-62 mph time of 8.4 seconds.
This was the base model 2wd version with 150bhp, so tuning potential was significant.
Stock power is 150bhp and 380nm
We can tune this too
190bhp and 470nm.
MPG will also improve by on average 12% too.
We had to be careful that too much torque wasn’t going through the front wheels too much.
Tuning Emporium tune all JLR models that have push button start, with ECU on the bench. We know we’re not the cheapest, nor are we the most expensive, but we use all of our 17 tuning experience to decide which is the best way.
