Range Rover TDV8 tuning at Tuning Emporium

Here at Tuning Emporium we love to tune the TDV8’s in Full fat Range Rover guise or Range Rover Sport.

The 3.6 TDV8 we tune through the diagnostic port, for the 4.4 TDV8’s, we prefer to remove the ECU’s to tune, as know from personal experience its safer.

For the 3.6TDV8 we can offer a portable tuning device where customers can upload the remap tune provided by us, themselves, handy if you live far away from us.

One of the most popular issues we find with either engine, is the EGR valve, where it sticks, clogs up, and can deposit carbon on to the turbo’s, hence another popular problem that arises.

Best solution is to map the egr system out. On the 3.6 its best to mechanically blank them, or in some engines, we’ve removed the EGR cooler too. Not only will the engine run a little cooler, but will eliminate the cooler pipes splitting and leaking in the future. If we do end up removing your coolers, please bear in mind about preventative maintenance on some other parts too, like, the thermostat housing and hoses, oil cooler, glow plugs to name a few.

On the 4.4 TDV8, you can only electronically shut them, as part of a remap.

We also offer DPF solution fixes, for the 4.4 TDV8 too.

On the 4.4’s we recommend a good blast at least once a week, by using the paddles on steering wheel, and holding it in gear to get temperatures nice and high.

But if that doesn’t work, get in touch to see how we can help. As you’d need to find out why your dpf is full in the first place, worst case it could be a leaking turbo. A word of caution if you see a 4.4TDV8 for sale with a dpf fault, bear in mind you mind need two turbo’s!!

To compliment the tune on either the 3.6 or the 4.4 TDV8 on the L322, we also offer stainless steel back box delete pipes.

These help spool up the turbo’s a lot sooner, add a lovely V8 rumble, not too intrusive though, save you about 25kg in weight loss too. We have designed these to be discreet looking, and are tucked up out of the way so not to effect the departure angle of the vehicle. Tuning Emporium will be doing these for other models soon.
